Volleyball Recap: Belmont Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dunbar last Tuesday, Belmont came back down to earth. The Bison fell just short of the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Bison haven't had much luck with the Fighting Owls recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Belmont took Mt. Healthy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 24-26, 16-25, 15-8.

Belmont's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mt. Healthy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will head out to challenge Thurgood Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Healthy, they will venture away from home to square off against Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
