Softball Recap: Narragansett Regional Comes Up Short

Narragansett Regional was the 14-13 winner over Gardner when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Friday.

Gianna Manca made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Lacey Beauregard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Narragansett Regional's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for Gardner, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Coming up, Narragansett Regional will head out to take on Murdock at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gardner, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against West Boylston at 3:30 p.m. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
