Softball Recap: Redlands East Valley Takes a Loss

Citrus Valley hit Redlands East Valley with a six-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 11-3 to the Blackhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 two weeks ago.

Redlands East Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Twente, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Twente is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Redlands East Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Citrus Valley, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-10.

Looking ahead, Redlands East Valley will square off against Beaumont at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Citrus Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
