Recap: Truman Patriots vs. Belton Pirates
The Truman Patriots can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past Belton with a 56-52 victory. The victory was just what Truman needed coming off of a 72-37 loss in their prior contest.
When it comes to explaining why Belton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kordell Williams. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Williams scored a full 36.5% of Belton's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Dawn, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
The win got Truman back to even at 3-3. As for Belton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Truman will head out on the road to face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belton, they will be playing at home against Grain Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
