Football Recap: Tompkins Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Tompkins was riding high fresh off their 51-2 takedown of Morton Ranch last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cinco Ranch Cougars on Friday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Tompkins still got an impressive performance from Ethan Meadows, who rushed for 217 yards and three scores. Meadows showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 67 yards. Blake Hamilton also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.

Davis Roup had an outrageously good game for Cinco Ranch as he threw for 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 46 yards and one TD. Those 46 rushing yards gave Roup a new career-high. Drew Tureau was Roup's top target, picking up 88 receiving yards and one score.

Tompkins now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Cinco Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tompkins will challenge rival Seven Lakes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cinco Ranch is set to square off against their familiar foe Mayde Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
