Recap: Reynolds Raiders vs. North East Grape Pickers

The Reynolds Raiders were the 26-20 winner over the North East Grape Pickers when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Reynolds was beaten by North East 51-19 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Reynolds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 504th, while North East is ranked 186th).

Although Reynolds took the loss, they still got scores from Kevyn Malgieri and Gavin Alabran.

North East had a senior duo take command as Jamari Curlett picked up 271 receiving yards and four touchdowns and Jackson Humes threw for 346 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes. Curlett's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Galloway, who rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Reynolds and nudges their season record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-2 Lakeview (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 80% over those games). As for North East, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Reynolds will square off against Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eisenhower will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. North East is on the road again on Friday and play against Oil City at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Oil City is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
