Basketball Game Preview: Clear Springs Chargers vs. Deer Park Deer

The Clear Springs Chargers will take on the Deer Park Deer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Springs is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

Clear Springs is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Dickinson to the tune of 79-42 on Friday. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Gators are ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Deer Park got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They strolled past Brazoswood with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-32. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Deer.

Clear Springs' win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Deer Park, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Clear Springs strolled past Deer Park in their previous matchup back in December of 2020 by a score of 43-25. Does Clear Springs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Deer Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
