Baseball Game Preview: Le Roy Oatkan Knights vs. Geneseo Blue Devils

The Le Roy Oatkan Knights will head out to challenge the Geneseo Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Le Roy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

Le Roy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Avon. The win continues a trend for the Oatkan Knights in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won four in a row.

Le Roy's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Spezzano, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Spezzano has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Holden Sullivan was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Le Roy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Geneseo posted their closest win since May 21, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pavilion, sneaking past 9-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Le Roy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Geneseo, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Le Roy took their victory against Geneseo in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Oatkan Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
