Volleyball Game Preview: West Point Warriors vs. Blackman Blaze

The West Point Warriors will face off against the Blackman Blaze at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Blackman took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on West Point, who comes in off a win.

Blackman will take on a team with plenty of momentum: West Point extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Warriors came out on top against Cold Springs by a score of 2-0.

West Point easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Blackman didn't have quite enough to beat Brentwood on Monday and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Blaze in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost three in a row.

Blackman actually scored more points across those three sets (56-53), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-22, 15-9.

West Point will have to keep a close watch on Annabelle Grissom and Raighan Buchanan, a pair of players who had a big impact on Blackman's prior game. Grissom had nine digs, while Buchanan had 17 assists.

Blackman's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Point, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
