Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Pleasant). They put the hurt on the Independence 76ers with a sharp  25-1 win on Tuesday. The  victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the 76ers: they've now won seven in a row.
 Nate Ortiz was a  major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Ortiz was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with five  stolen bases, four  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  four  runs gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Mt. Pleasant got a  massive  performance out of  Santiago Ramirez, who  went 2-for-3 with five  stolen bases, four  runs,  and three  RBI. Ramirez is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last five games he's  played.  Joshua Santos was another key player,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with four  stolen bases, four  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Mt. Pleasant was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .560. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  batting average total in three consecutive  matchups.
Mt. Pleasant's win was  their tenth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 15-6. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Independence,  they are  on  a  19-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-21.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will square off against Silver Creek at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Independence, they will challenge Yerba Buena at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
