Softball Recap: Griffith Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Griffith extended their postseason success on Wednesday against East Chicago Central. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals an 11-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Victoria Nudo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Camryn Von Ogden was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nivea Bennett, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The win (which was Griffith's eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for East Chicago Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

As of now, neither Griffith nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
