Volleyball Recap: El Camino Wins Going Away Against Coastal Academy

El Camino won the last time they faced Coastal Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats blew past the Stingrays 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-10, 25-15.

Among those leading the charge was Makayla Boone, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August of 2024.

They weren't the only good server: El Camino was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Despite the defeat, Coastal Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Alcantara had 12 digs and one assist.

El Camino's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Coastal Academy, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

After both having extra time off, El Camino and Classical Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coastal Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Oceanside on the 22nd.
