Softball Recap: Woodhaven Wins High-Profile Game Against Allen Park

Woodhaven faced Allen Park in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Warriors blew past the Jaguars 11-0. Considering the Warriors have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Natilee Pridemore made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ariel Krueger, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Woodhaven kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Woodhaven has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Allen Park, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5.

Coming up, Woodhaven will face off against Farmington at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Allen Park, they will venture away from home to challenge Grand Blanc at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
