Basketball Recap: International Community Comets vs. City of Life Christian Academy Warriors
International Community was the 58-49 winner over City of Life Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The International Community Comets took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the City of Life Christian Academy Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Comets still had to take the loss.
Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paxton Boaz, who went 6 for 10 en route to 17 points plus four steals and two blocks. Boaz's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Slade Woodruff was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 14 points plus six assists.
City of Life Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathan Thompson led the charge by posting 16 points plus seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Manlove, who had 14 points in addition to five rebounds.
