Baseball Preview: Westview Chargers vs. Obion County Rebels

The Westview Chargers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Obion County Rebels at 5:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Obion County is hoping to do on Thursday what Peabody couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Westview's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Westview had just enough and edged Peabody out 5-3.

Brady Gardner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Gardner was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other pitching news, Jack Hays Allen looked comfortable as he tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
