Preview: General McLane Lancers vs. Girard Yellowjackets
General McLane is 1-0 against Girard since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The General McLane Lancers will look to defend their home field against the Girard Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Girard took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on General McLane, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, General McLane was fully in charge, breezing past Fairview 42-7 on the road. The result was nothing new for General McLane, who have now won three matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Magnus Lloyd, who rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Zietz, who picked up 35 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Girard's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Corry, falling 42-14.
General McLane's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 4-4. Girard has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
