Baseball Recap: La Serna Victorious

After losing to Bishop Amat the last time they met, La Serna decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. La Serna came out on top against Bishop Amat by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for La Serna.

Jacob Wagg tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adrian Dominguez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Giovanni Peregrina also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

La Serna now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for Bishop Amat, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10.

La Serna will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bishop Amat: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
