Basketball Game Preview: Center Grove Trojans vs. Whiteland Warriors

Center Grove is 10-0 against Whiteland since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Center Grove Trojans will head out to take on the Whiteland Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Center Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.

Center Grove is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Martinsville: they outscored them in every quarter. Center Grove blew past Martinsville 54-29 on Tuesday. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Ava Grant continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 7 from beyond the arc on her way to 35 points. What's more, she also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Emerson Vlcan, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Whiteland might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Indian Creek an easy 59-37 win. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Braves: they've now lost four in a row.

Center Grove will have to contain Sophia Dyer as she made an impact in Whiteland's last game. She dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.

Whiteland's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Center Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Center Grove beat Whiteland 40-30 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will Center Grove repeat their success, or does Whiteland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
