Recap: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. East Rowan Mustangs
The Central Cabarrus Vikings proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 37) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past East Rowan 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Central Cabarrus has posted yet this season.
Central Cabarrus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyra Lewis, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lewis has scored at least a third of Central Cabarrus' points. Shelby Cruz was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Central Cabarrus is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for East Rowan, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Central Cabarrus will head out on the road to face off against South Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Rowan, they will be playing at home against Lake Norman Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lake Norman Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday.
