Recap: Edinburg Bobcats vs. Mission Eagles

The Edinburg Bobcats proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 27) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Mission 46-44. Given Edinburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while Mission is ranked 1126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edinburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Axel Navarro led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Edgar Perales, who scored five points along with five steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Edinburg and bumps their season record up to 16-9. As for Mission, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Economedes the next time they take the court. Edinburg will head out to face Economedes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Mission will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
