Basketball Recap: Falfurrias Piles Up the Points Against Premont

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Falfurrias). They breezed by the Premont Cowboys to the tune of 63-14 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Falfurrias' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaleb Garcia, who went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points along with seven boards and four steals. Those four steals gave Garcia a new career-high. Gabriel Cantu was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Falfurrias is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Premont, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Falfurrias and Premont will both be playing Three Rivers the next time they take the court. Premont will head out to face Three Rivers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Falfurrias will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
