After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Jackson-Reed finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the James Madison Warhawks by a score of 2-1. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Nelson Hayes was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackson-Reed saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Rosario, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Rosario hit this season.

Jackson-Reed's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for James Madison, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson-Reed will face off against Dunbar at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for James Madison, they will square off against Miller School of Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
