Baseball Recap: Granbury Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Granbury dropped their record down to 16-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Aledo Bearcats, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pirates have suffered since March 22, 2024.

As for Aledo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Aledo's part, Devin Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Miller has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Landon Barnes, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Gladchuk, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Granbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aledo, they will be playing at home against Azle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Hornets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
