Gilbert Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Ely out in front who threw for 256 yards and a pair of TDs. Stanbury got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Valley Christian against Sabino on Friday as the team secured a 47-18 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-0.
Gilbert Christian better keep an eye on Austin Schuder. He was instrumental in Valley Christian's win, rushing for 44 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes. Caleb Goldman was another major influence, as he rushed for 100 yards and ran in a TD.
Gilbert Christian's record now sits at 8-3. As for Valley Christian, their record is now 10-1.
