Lovejoy has gone 9-1 against Denison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lovejoy Leopards will look to defend their home court against the Denison Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Lovejoy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lovejoy beat Anna 73-69. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Coyotes are ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Denison's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 71-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Walnut Grove.

Lovejoy pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Denison, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5.

Lovejoy skirted past Denison 45-43 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Lovejoy repeat their success, or does Denison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
