Homer has gone a perfect 10-0 against Nikiski recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Homer Mariners will venture away from home to face off against the Nikiski Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Homer is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Seward on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Homer was dealt a 54-22 loss at the hands of Seward. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Seahawks are ranked ninth).

Nikiski got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They took down Kenai Central 46-30 on Friday.

Nikiski picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-10. As for Homer, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Homer didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Nikiski when the teams last played back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Homer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
