After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Boerne-Champion, Tivy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Alamo Heights Mules with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Antlers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Tivy was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13, 25-17.
Tivy can attribute much of their success to Leighton Hale, who had 18 digs. Hale is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.
Tivy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Tivy's victory bumped their record up to 21-12. As for Alamo Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-22 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tivy will venture away from home to take on Boerne at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alamo Heights, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Smithson Valley at 6:30 p.m.
