Basketball Recap: Sycamore Takes a Loss

Sycamore was the 58-42 winner over Boylan Catholic when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sycamore Spartans were dealt a 54-22 loss at the hands of the Boylan Catholic Titans on Wednesday. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Sycamore has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Boylan Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sycamore won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rochelle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sycamore is facing Rochelle at the right time seeing as Rochelle is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Boylan Catholic, they are taking a road trip to face off against Belvidere at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Belvidere is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
