Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln Southeast). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gretna East Griffins on Thursday, sneaking past 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 20, 2024.

Lincoln Southeast's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Kirk, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another was Brooks Gordon, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

The win snapped Lincoln Southeast's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-8 record. As for Gretna East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
