Volleyball Recap: New Hanover Takes a Loss

New Hanover lost against New Bern last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats came up short against the Bears, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-13.

Maille Smith paced New Hanover's offense, picking up six kills. Smith really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

New Hanover now has a losing record of 2-3. As for New Bern, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hanover will face off against North Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for New Bern, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Craven at 6:00 p.m.
