Basketball Recap: Baylor Comes Up Short

Baylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The contest between them and the Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish didn't end well, with the Baylor Red Raiders falling 40-26. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 50th).

Ariana Swain went supernova for Knoxville Catholic, going 7 of 12 to rack up 19 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tinsley Walker, who posted eight points and three steals.

Baylor's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Knoxville Catholic, they pushed their record up to 15-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Chattanooga Christian the next time they take the court. Knoxville Catholic will head out to face Chattanooga Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Baylor will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
