Baseball Game Preview: Timber Creek Wolves vs. Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs

The Timber Creek Wolves and the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Flagler Palm Coast will be up against a hot Timber Creek squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Timber Creek never let Lyman get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Wolves this season.

Jenuel Velazquez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Elijah Buffaloe was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Sebastian Hurtado, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Timber Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Flagler Palm Coast came up short against Lyman on Monday and fell 13-10.

Nole Hemmerle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenin Striplin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Timber Creek's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Flagler Palm Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Timber Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Flagler Palm Coast in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will Timber Creek repeat their success, or does Flagler Palm Coast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
