Bear Creek has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Edison has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Bruins will host the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Bear Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Bear Creek beat Franklin 6-2.
The team relied heavily on Amiyah Owens, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Gabriella Orsi was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Edison made easy work of Weston Ranch on Tuesday and carried off a 17-6 win. Considering the Vikings have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Angeleya Miranda was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Gomez Cruz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .556 or higher in three consecutive games.
Edison has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Bear Creek, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.
Edison's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Bear Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Edison, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Bear Creek keep running through batters, or will the Vikings buck the trend?
Bear Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Edison when the teams last played on April 3rd, winning 6-1. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
