Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Crown Point

Crown Point is still undefeated this season after their contest against Boquet Valley on Wednesday, but Boquet Valley came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Panthers came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Griffins. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-2 last Wednesday.

Kaitlin Ross spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Addison Hurlburt was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Briana Duprey, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Crown Point pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Boquet Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
