Unbeaten Westminster stops Martinsburg; Clairton streak reaches 51.
One of the longest football winning streaks in the nation ended Friday night when
Westminster (Md.) eked out a 36-33 victory over
Martinsburg (W. Va.).
The two-time Class AAA defending state champions had won their last 32 games.
Westminster, also unbeaten, received an outstanding effort from senior quarterback
Deryk Kern, who completed 23 of 43 passes for 359 yards and five touchdowns.
Justin Clinton starred for the losing Bulldogs, passing for 164 yards and two touchdowns and running for 154 yards and one touchdown.

Clairton (Pa.) Bears continued to lead the nation with their 51st consecutive victory, 52-7 over Monessen (Pa.) as highly coveted
Tyler Boyd ran 12 times for 154 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Hornell (N.Y.) defeated Livonia (N.Y.) 35-22 for its 43rd straight win.

Tyler Reynolds ran for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns as
Waunakee (Wis.) ran its winning streak to 41 games with a 76-20 rout of Baraboo (Wis.).

Webb City (Mo.) scored 36 points in the second half to defeat Nixa (Mo.) 49-21 and extend its winning streak to 35 games. Nixa had yielded only nine points previously this season.

Maryville (Tenn.) defeated No. 7 and previously unbeaten Oak Ridge (Tenn.) 38-23 for its 34th consecutive victory. Quarterback
Nick Myers did the bulk of the damage by completing 14 of 18 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns.

Ithaca (Mich.) routed Breckenridge (Mich.) 70-0;
Regina (Iowa City, Iowa) blanked Cardinal (Eldon, Iowa) 58-0 and
Boylan (Rockford, Ill.) rolled past East (Rockford, Ill.) 41-9 with a brilliant defensive effort.
