Basketball Recap: Wheatland Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wheatland couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buffalo Bison on Saturday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bison earlier this season, when they won 53-41.

Despite the loss, Wheatland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lily Anderson went 6-for-15 en route to 24 points along with six boards and four steals. That was a full 61.5% of Wheatland's points, marking the 16th time in a row Anderson has posted more than a third of the team's points. Molly Mcguire was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Wheatland's defeat dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Buffalo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.

As of now, neither Wheatland nor Buffalo have any future games scheduled.
