Basketball Recap: Smoky Valley Comes Up Short

Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 54-37 fall against the Hesston Swathers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Swathers are ranked second).

Smoky Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Hesston, they pushed their record up to 16-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

When Smoky Valley and Hesston next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Smoky Valley will take on Halstead and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hesston will try to stop Sunrise Christian Academy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
