Basketball Recap: Gwynn Park Yellowjackets vs. John Marshall Justices
Gwynn Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 80-47 loss at the hands of the John Marshall Justices. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 114th in Maryland, while the Justices are ranked first in Virginia).
John Marshall got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Troy Henderson out in front who went 6 of 7 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Latrell Allmond, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points and five boards.
Gwynn Park's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for John Marshall, their win was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
