Softball Recap: Monarch Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Monarch walked away with it. They skirted past the Fort Lauderdale Flying L 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since March 6th.

Sara Connor was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mylie Carlson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Monarch's third in a row) raised their record to 12-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Lauderdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Monarch will square off against Doral Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Firebirds have now posted at least ten runs in their last six matches. Fort Lauderdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
