It was a good run, but East unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak dating back to last season on Thursday. They fell 80-67 to the Scottsbluff Bearcats. The loss was the Thunderbirds' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, East fell to 4-1. As for Scottsbluff, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

East won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Thomas More at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Scottsbluff will take on Kearney in a holiday battle at at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
