It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Rowlett ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Sachse Mustangs 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-1 loss.

Rowlett's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Roger Funke, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Rowlett has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sachse, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 19-5.
