Baseball Recap: Putnam Comes Up Short

Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ellis RVT Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Clippers have suffered since April 20, 2024.

Evan Mailloux put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Carter Murowski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Ceydian Campos, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Ellis RVT, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Coming up, Putnam will challenge Lyman Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ellis RVT, they will host Windham RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
