Basketball Recap: Alexus Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Paulding County over Harrison

Paulding County was the 73-43 winner over Harrison when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Paulding County Patriots fell just short of the Harrison Hoyas by a score of 36-34 on Friday. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Paulding County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexus Wilson, who posted nine points. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Kayla Manigault also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Paulding County's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Harrison, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Paulding County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-23 victory against Osborne on the 22nd. Harrison has also already played their next game, a 59-37 defeat against Sprayberry on the 18th.
