With a playoff win on the line, Lucy Beckham rose to the challenge on Monday. They put the hurt on the Myrtle Beach Seahawks with a sharp 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bengals, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Hunter Doyle tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Lucy Beckham got a massive performance out of Hank Aeppli, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Aeppli has become a key player for the Bengals: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 11-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Byrne, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Lucy Beckham's record now sits at 14-12. As for Myrtle Beach, they dropped their record down to 8-17 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Lucy Beckham will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Seahawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
