Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday William Speed stepped things up a notch to give McCluer the 'W'. Speed wasn't messing around, striking out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. The pitching appearance was his fourth straight with six or more strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Speed and McCluer will be playing at home against Riverview Gardens at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
