Volleyball Recap: El Primero Comes Up Short

After flying high against ACE Charter on Monday, El Primero came back down to earth. The Lobos took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolfpack this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

El Primero was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made KIPP San Jose Collegiate work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 22-25, 27-25, 25-22.

El Primero's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

El Primero has already played their next contest (against Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they will be playing in front of their home fans against University Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wolfpack surely won't give up without a fight.
