Football Recap: Ridgeland Starts Season with Win on the Road

Ridgeland had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 21-13 win over the Mendenhall Tigers on Friday.

Ridgeland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kadin Qualls, Javeon Johnson, and Trae Collins picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Mendenhall's side was Nigel Lockett, who made 14 total tackles (4.0 for loss) and defended two passes.

Coming up, Ridgeland will face off against Provine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mendenhall, they will challenge Magee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
