On Friday, Hughes Springs was the victim of a tough 45-19 defeat at the hands of Harts Bluff.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Grand Saline's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 55-42 to Chisum. Grand Saline has not had much luck with Chisum recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Hughes Springs' defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.1 points per game. As for Grand Saline, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.
