Baseball Recap: Luxemburg-Casco's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Two

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Luxemburg-Casco nor Clintonville made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Spartans never let the Truckers get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The Spartans were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Truckers, so the Spartans were just returning the favor.

Not much got past Jake Chervenka, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Clintonville off the board.

At the plate, Jacob Coisman was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Chervenka, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Luxemburg-Casco and bumps their season record up to 7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Clintonville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Luxemburg-Casco will square off against rival Fox Valley Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.3, the Foxes 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Clintonville is set to challenge their familiar foe Freedom at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
