Baseball Game Preview: Bethlehem Catholic Hawks vs. Berks Catholic Saints

The Bethlehem Catholic Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Berks Catholic Saints at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bethlehem Catholic came up short against Nazareth Area on Friday, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, Berks Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Fleetwood on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Trey Stricker put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Stricker was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Dennys Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Bethlehem Catholic's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Berks Catholic, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 2-2.
